How we work, in writing
Impartiality
ISSPL does not manufacture, sell or consult on the products it tests. Analysts are not paid on the basis of results, and no commercial relationship can alter a reported value. Any staff member who identifies a conflict of interest on a job must declare it, and the job is reassigned.
Confidentiality
Sample details, methods you share and results belong to you. We do not disclose a report to any third party without your written instruction, except where law or accreditation requires it, and in that case we tell you unless we are barred from doing so.
Complaints and appeals
If you disagree with a result, send the Customer Feedback Form with the report number. The quality manager acknowledges within two working days and the review is carried out by someone who was not involved in the original test. You get a written outcome.
Terms of testing
Reports apply only to the sample as received. Retention periods, sub-contracting arrangements, opinion and interpretation statements and payment terms are set out in the Terms and Conditions document in the Download Centre.
Sub-contracting
Where a parameter sits outside our scope, we sub-contract it only to an accredited laboratory, we name that laboratory on the report, and we tell you before the work starts.
Decision rules
Where a report states conformity against a specification, the decision rule used, including how measurement uncertainty is treated at the limit, is stated on the report itself.
